You can slow down growth by keeping them in a cool area, if you have a wine cooler around 55 degrees they can be kept for up to 2 days (with a 1 day break) to slow growth even further. Hornworms are unbelievably fast growers, with the ability to grow 1-2 inches a week. You should feed your bearded dragon three to five hornworms three to five times per week. Eating insects 20 to 50 times per week is sufficient for most adult bearded dragons. Feeding your bearded pet hornworms once or twice a day is sufficient. Hornworms are a juicy feeder, their high moisture content hydrates animals feeding on them. Adult bearded dragons, unlike wild dragons, do not consume hornworms.
